Proposal Story

If you follow me on Instagram then you know, I’M ENGAGED! Wow, it’s still so weird to say that. I wanted to do a full post dedicated to our proposal story and I’ll give you a little background on Levi and I.

Levi and I first met over 4 years ago while we were both in undergrad. I was an Alpha Delta Pi and he was a FIJI. So, it was a few weeks before our formal and I had no date but I was totally fine with that. My friends insisted that I asked someone and kept bringing up the name Levi. Well long story short, one of my friends asked him to go with me and he said yes. We hit it off as soon as we met and it was the best dance I’d ever been to! As they say, the rest was history.

Over the next couple of years, we spent undergrad together and fell in love…fast (at least for me lol). This may be clique but I don’t think there are two people who just click more than me and Levi. I’ve never been someone who necessarily believed in true love or whatever but I can honestly say I know God put both of us on this earth for each other. He is everything I’ve ever wanted and more. I’m so so happy that I get to spend my life with him.

Over the past year and a half, we’ve had to do long distance. It has been tough but it’s only made our relationship stronger. He moved to ATL for chiropractic school and I stayed in KY to finish my degree in Dental Hygiene. Finally, in just a few shorts weeks I’ll be joining him in GA! I seriously can’t wait to be in the same place together! BTW-if you don’t already know we are also pregnant and expecting our little one in October.

Okay, so now fast-forward to the weekend of April 21st. I was in ATL for the weekend because that Sunday (April 23rd) I was taking my clinical board exam and that Saturday (April 22nd) was also my birthday. So it was already a pretty big weekend! Now I’ll just tell you about our whole day on Saturday.

We had already planned out our whole day since it was my birthday. For lunch/dinner, we were going to eat Fox Bros BBQ because Levi had heard it was the best BBQ in ATL. So on our way to eat, Levi asked if I wanted to go look at rings later that day (totally tricked me into thinking he hadn’t even thought about proposing). So if I had any kind of thought he might propose soon, that was out the window. I literally texted all of my friends saying “OMG, Levi wants to go look at rings!”. He had asked me numerous times what I wanted for my birthday and my response was always, nothing. With that being said, he offered to take blog pictures for me since I wanted nothing else. After eating, we headed to Piedmont Park for pictures! We walked around, took a few shots and he stopped by the bathroom (which is where he got the ring from the photographer). We were just standing there and he said “hey, the stairs over there would be good to take pictures on”, so we walked over. I was completely oblivious! He had been there a few days prior to plan where he was going to propose! So he took a few shots of me on the stairs and turned around to ask some random guy to take our picture (turns out he wasn’t a random guy but the husband of our surprise photographer). This guy is about to take our picture and Levi starts telling me all this sweet stuff and I just keep saying okay because I’m like this guy probably wants to get back to what he is doing lol. I finally just look at Levi like will you stop talking and we both just stare at each other for a second, he kisses me on the forehead then gets down on one knee! (I feel totally rude about it now haha!) I was seriously in shock, like I couldn’t believe it. I honestly don’t think I ever said yes because all I could say was “are you serious”. After the proposal, we took lots of pictures and left the park.

We headed to one of our friends apartments so I could show them my gorgeous ring. When we walked in a bunch of our friends were there to surprise/celebrate us! That’s when the tears starting rolling. I’m so thankful to have such amazing people in our lives.

I know this post is long but I wanted to give you all the details! Right now, we are putting the wedding planning on hold while we enjoy this pregnancy!

enjoy,

xoxo!
