Getting Fit Isn't Always Bad

When most people hear the word workout they automatically stop reading or ignore it, I’m usually like this as well. I’m not going to preach to you about how being health is the way to go and how you really don’t need that Dairy Queen Extreme Choc. Blizzard. I am going to tell you how I’ve made changes in my diet and exercise routine this past month. I’m by no means a professional trainer or dietitian but I wanted to share the things that have been working for me lately!

First, I’m the girl who orders Pizza Hut at midnight and eats the whole thing by herself or at least I was that girl. I still love Pizza Hut but I’ve just been smarter about. I don’t order it 5 times a week like I use to nor do I eat very late at night. I’ve changed my diet in small ways but I can really tell a difference. Instead of eating a sandwich and chips, I’ll swap out the chips and eat apple slices instead. At a restaurant I’ll order a frilled chicken sandwich and just take the bread off. For breakfast, instead of three bowls of Coca Puffs I’ll eat oatmeal and a banana. I’ve tried to take fast food out of my diet as much as possible! It’s been hard but it’s worth it. I’ve also basically cut out caffeine in my diet, I may drink one every couple of weeks now, mainly drinking water.

Second, the fun part…exercising! Sarcasm? Not really. Once I got into the routine of going to the gym, I actually started to look forward to going. My boyfriend goes to the gym everyday so he has taught me how to use all the machines along with reps and all that. Usually I do 3 sets with 12 reps for each machine but recently got up to 4 sets! I feel that I can now confidently go into the gym now and use the machines without feeling like the odd girl out. Sometimes I’m so sore I really don’t want to go but as my boyfriend always says “make yourself push through the pain”. The last few weeks I’ve only missed working out one or two days which is a huge deal for me! I can’t wait to see my progress in the next few months! I just started a weight training class at school also!

I’ve been loving the 10 Minutes to Tone: Arm Workout on PopSugar. If you haven’t been to their website, GO, they have all kinds of workouts. This is especially for beginners, someone (like I was) that has no clue what to do in the gym. I’ve learned about from these videos! Here are two others videos that I LOVE and do every other day. My boyfriend just taught me how to use the Smith Machine which is a squat machine. Learn to love this machine ladies!

whats your favorite machine or workout video?
